Charity of The Month: UW and Serenity Equine Rescue

Thank you to Olivia Brandon, a Sophomore at UW and executive board member for the UW equestrian team for alerting us to this fantastic charitable partnership between UW and Serenity Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation.

The University of Washington Equestrian Team, and Serenity Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation are thrilled to announce they are partnering to raise funds and continue their good work in the community.

The UW Equestrian Team welcomes riders of all disciplines, regardless of their experience, race, gender or financial status. The team is self-sustaining, and this year, lost the stipend the UW had traditionally offered, due to the pandemic. This downturn inspired them to reach out and collaborate with and support another vital equine community member, Serenity Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation.

Serenity has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses and ponies for over a decade, as well as providing welfare checks and community support to families that have fallen on difficult times. Serenity also keeps special needs and elderly horses in sanctuary. The rescue is staffed by volunteers and is financed entirely by donation.

The fundraiser is available on GoFundMe. Proceeds will be split 40% UW Equestrian Team, 60% Serenity Equine. Donation Deadline: Dec 31
