#MYHORSE Patty and Rainberry

Our December #MYHORSE is the wonderful Picturesque Rainberry submitted by owner, Patty Glick. We love this incredible duo! Patty wrote in because she has always wanted to bring along a young pony and is currently enjoying an incredible partnership with Rainberry. She writes: “I came home with a just-started, lovely young mare with great breeding and a knees-to-the-chin jump. From the start, this smart pony has always been willing and eager to learn… Now, with our own year-end championships and even a little medal win, I think she is just about ready for the kiddos. Problem is, she is just such a joy to ride, I’m not quite ready to let them have her.” Find out what makes Rainberry so special in our December Issue… or read more below.

My Horse Is Special Because: I have always wanted to bring along a young pony. I was one of those kids who aged out – no “sadly outgrown” here! After having been fortunate enough to check off a few those special items on the adult amateur bucket list (e.g., some year-end championships and medal final wins) with a string of wonderful horses, I decided now is the time! With the blessing of my trainers and an incredibly supportive husband, my search began, culminating in a flight to Virginia. Now, I know there are some amazing pony breeders here in the West, but Pony Finals has its own special championship just for Virginia-bred ponies! Long story short, I came home with a just-started, lovely young mare with great breeding and a knees-to-the-chin jump. From the start, this smart pony has always been willing and eager to learn, and I have always felt safe. Now, with our own year-end championships and even a little medal win, I think she is just about ready for the kiddos. Problem is, she is just such a joy to ride, I’m not quite ready to let them have her.
